Paul George is one of the most athletic and exciting superstars in the NBA. It’s no question that because of his rising star Nike decided to make him the latest branded athlete with his own signature shoe, a rare honor in which only 20 others have been able to achieve. George joins only LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Kyrie Irving as the only active NBA players who also have their own Nike signature shoes. And while PG might have the least amount of signature shoes to his name he definitely brings some heat on the court.
The PG’s aren’t my favorite signature kicks on the market but they certainly do not lack in the looks’ department. So out of the few PG’s to choose from I’ve decided to list my top 3 favorite PG 1’s and PG 2’s. So let’s not waste anymore time and let’s dive in.
PG 1 “USA”
Now I know that PG isn’t the only player with kicks that celebrate the fourth of July but in my opinion these are the cleanest out of all of them. And while I am a big fan of the Kyrie Irving “Independence Day” kicks as well, these just have a great look to them that is subtle yet stand out. I like the fact that these can be worn on any day on almost any occasion unlike the other flashier competitors. I would definitely cop.
PG 1 “Flip The Switch”
Now these are Awesome with a capital “A.” These were one of 5 kicks in the “Flip The Switch” collection. They featured other Nike signature shoe athletes and their respective shoes. They included the LeBron 14, Kobe A.D., KD 9 Elite, and the Kyrie 3’s. The collection pays homage to the electric atmosphere of the NBA Playoffs. These PG 1’s, along with the others in the collection, definitely do the NBA justice. Definitely check them out when you get the chance.
PG 1 “Black Ice”
Out of all the PG 1’s these are hands down my favorite. My favorite sneakers of all time are the Jordan “Space Jam” 11’s and I’m getting those same vibes from these kicks. Something about black and white kicks with icy bottoms just have that clean look to them and these are no exception. These are 5 star kicks without a doubt.
PG 2 “Taurus”
These kicks pay homage to PG’s zodiac sign, Taurus. These sneakers even include the constellation on the left shoe. You can tell that Jordan was a big influence to PG because these somewhat resemble the Jordan “72-10” 11’s. I may not be a big zodiac guy but nonetheless these kicks are out of this world.
PG 2 “March Madness”
These kicks were one of 3 others in the “March Madness” collection. They included the Kyrie 4’s and Kobe A.D. Mid’s. The collection pays homage to the NCAA March Madness tournament. The multicolored outsole is without a doubt the eye catcher and makes it one of my favorite PG’s on this list.
PG 2 “PS4”
Now these kicks have to be one of the most creatively unique sneakers on the market. I am a huge PlayStation guy and apparently so is Paul George. These limited edition sneakers were widely anticipated by many gamers and sneaker heads alike, selling for as much as $1,000 on the resell market. These sneakers are a testament to how far sneakers and gaming has come. These kicks are fire and a must for any gamer or sneaker head. I give these kicks 5 platinum trophies.
In a blog post by Paul George himself he explains the inspiration behind the PG 2 “PS4”. It’s a good read and I recommend you check it out of your interested. The link is down below:
Well there you have it. These are my top favorite PG’s. There will undoubtedly be many more PG’s to come but if these kicks are just a peak of what we’re in for then we’re in for a treat. I hope you enjoyed my list. Let me know what you think. I look forward to hearing your opinions. Peace!
